Meet the Staff Testimonials

John H. Swartz – Founder & President of Swartz Aviation Group, LLC

John grew up in corporate aviation with his father who was a sales executive for KC-Aviation, and now with one of the premier service centers Jet Aviation, St. Louis. As a boy John’s Father would take him to KC to look at the different aircraft in the hangar and occasionally fly on them. From that point John had aviation in his blood.

After graduating high school, John enlisted in the United States Marine Corps, to become a KC-130 jet engine mechanic. His duties included propeller maintenance, engine and APU maintenance, fuel system repair and running the test cell. John has a strong maintenance back ground including an A&P License, a level 2 NDT license and a 1st Class FCC license with a radar endorsement. In addition to these credentials, John is a private pilot.

After leaving the Marines, John worked for Dallas Airmotive, quickly becoming the Shop supervisor, and overseeing the disassembly of the Rolls Royce Spey and Tay program, and the Pratt & Whitney PT-6A and JT-15D program. John quickly excelled in the mechanics field and decided to pursue his goal to become an Aircraft Sales Professional. John began work with Pollard Aircraft Sales in 2005 and resigned in 2013. John resigned as the Vice President and was responsible for selling a variety of aircraft ranging from the turboprop to the most extravagant luxury business jet aircraft produced today. John’s specialty was the Citation 500/550/560/650 series aircraft and the Dassault Falcon 50/900/2000 series aircraft.

September of 2011 John and Tim Pollard formed a new company together called Pollard Spares, LLC. together with the acquisition of a single Falcon 50.This was the First Falcon 50 to be parted out in the world. John and Tim quickly realized there was a real business opportunity with this aircraft and decided to pursue the goal of making this a full fledge spares and rotable company supporting Falcon, Hawker and Challenger and Citation and Gulfstream owners around the world.

August of 2013, John decided that there was one final goal that he had not achieved in life, and that was to own his own aircraft sales company. This was by far one of the hardest decisions to make in life but one worth doing. August of 2013 Swartz Aviation Group, LLC was formed. John specializes in Falcon, Citation, Challenger and Gulfstream and Hawker type aircraft. John also has another company called Aircraft Maintenance Advisors, LLC.AMA is a company that was formed in partnership with Mr. Mike Klasing, specializing in placing older Citation type aircraft on an FAA approved low utilization program extending the inspections out, thus extending the life of the aircraft. AMA also provides maintenance consulting which John and Mike are very active in.

I was fortunate to secure employment there and I was exposed to the most talented individuals I’ve ever known in this business, working there for 20 years. I’m very grateful for the training I received at KC where I was given so many opportunities. I began as an Avionics Installer, worked as Avionics Service Manager, began selling avionics and finished as Director of Completion and Avionics Sales. Testimonials

Swartz Aviation helped us sell our Citation Excel, and then acquire the Falcon 2000. When my boss told me to sell his plane and find him something to replace it, I started out by talking to about 4 different brokers. I eventually chose to work with Swartz because they were hands down the most pro-active group, hardest working, and seemed to be very honest and upfront about everything. I'm so happy I made that decision, and I honestly can't recommend them highly enough. They were constantly in communication with me, even if just to tell me at the end of the day that there was no update or progress. And there was never a time that I could not reach them immediately. It was a real pleasure working with them all, and I have no hesitation at all about recommending them to anyone.

Thanks,

Tim Hudson
Chief Pilot
COKeM International

To whom it may concern:

Recently I hired Swartz Aviation to help me retrieve a Challenger that I had been tracking for more than 18 months. The Challenger had been all over the world but never in the US. Although I am entitled to possession pursuant to a court order, I could not get my hands on the plane. Immediately upon engaging Swartz, they devised a plan and provided logistical support, high quality personnel and invaluable contacts to make retrieval of the Challenger possible. I don’t think I could have retrieved the Challenger without Swartz. They took the assignment of retrieving the Challenger and did not rest until the plane was in my possession. I recommend their services without hesitation.

“We would like to take this opportunity to thank John Swartz for the exceptional customer service provided by him and his team during the purchase of our Falcon 50 in summer 2011. We really appreciate his professional help and response to our queries. Highly motivated staff that are always professional and willing to go the ‘extra step’ in achieving their client’s requirements. Not only selling aircraft, John crossed the Atlantic Ocean, to fix administrative problems we faced with our Falcon in Europe, great Job!”

Cedric Hoffman
Winn Aviation, LTD.

“After years of searching for a Citation Excel to upgrade to from our Citation V we finally found one to meet our mission. Not only was the aircraft a perfect match; so was the seller. Swartz Aviation Group treated us with respect. Every question we had was answered with professionalism and sincerity. The trust we had during this acquisition is unprecedented and is unheard of when strangers meet but we trusted each other. We still talk months after closing and I am sure for years to come. Thank You Swartz.”

Swartz Aviation Group, was built on relationships and reputation. We have developed many worldwide relationships with aircraft manufacturers, brokers, dealers, service providers and operators we can provide our clients with the most accurate and timely information available to help them make decisions.

Swartz Aviation Group, LLC. represents first-time buyers and seasoned buyers looking at new or pre-owned aircraft. We analyze the total potential cost of each aircraft today and over its life are important to our clients as well. Our budgeting process uses our client’s fixed costs and specific details of each aircraft under consideration so that our clients know exactly what they are buying and what they can expect over the upcoming five years.

We are well known for our progressive, thorough and service-orientated approach to aircraft acquisitions, sales, consulting and analysis. Today, aircraft buyers expect more from their broker than ever before and we offer a wealth of experience and knowledge to meet those expectations. Buyers value our attention to detail, strategic and analytical acquisition process, in-depth communication with them and our professional and persistent follow up.

We not only Broker aircraft, but we have the ability to take an aircraft in on trade or floor plan the aircraft if that is what is required.

Listing Services

Within the last ten years, the business of selling aircraft has evolved to a new level of sophistication most would not have anticipated 15 years ago. The internet and information age has completely changed the dynamics of aviation today. The tools, methods and resources required to effectively find a buyer for your aircraft have changed.. Today, it is not enough to simply advertise an aircraft by traditional methods and keep track of others on the market. An effective sales effort requires an in-depth knowledge of the world market for your aircraft and competitive aircraft that overlap it in price and performance. Further, it depends on confidence among industry professionals that their clients will be treated with professionalism and honesty.

When it is time to market your aircraft for sale, we will provide you with a full market survey and provide an in depth market analysis pertaining to your specific aircraft. We track all aircraft that are bought and sold world wide to ensure that the client has the most accurate information possible to make their decision on the sale of the aircraft. Once the client has made the decision to sell, Swartz Aviation Group, LLC. will advise the client as to what to expect for their aircraft and how to obtain that goal.

We will provide you with:

  • Detailed, accurate, real time information with realistic sales prices. We tell you what you need to know, not what you want to hear.
  • Comprehensive market canvassing, advertising and marketing. While we cover the market from a passive point ( i.e., Internet, sales websites, publications, and other forms of media), our proactive marketing style has a much higher success rate. It is more time consuming and far more detailed, but by contacting those most likely buyers and sellers of a certain make and model of aircraft, we generate significantly more qualified leads, which means better sales prices in a shorter period of time, and better value on an aircraft acquisition.
  • Unbiased opinions and objective advice.
  • We are with you from the start to the finish, you can be as involved or as uninvolved as you wish knowing that we are capable of handling the entire transaction for you.
  • We qualify any and all prospects.
  • We handle everything from the marketing to the delivery.
  • Organize pre-buys, demos, viewings, closings and deliveries.
  • We understand the processes, we anticipate the issues, and identify the risks.
  • We know our competitive aircraft, which aircraft have sold recently, which ones are under contract and why, and what is coming to the market.
  • We surround ourselves with the best in the business, so that when it comes to financing, insurance, tax issues or questions, pilots, maintenance, pre-buys and management we can put you in a position to make confident decisions.
  • We don’t assume anything.
  • Proactive marketing: Targeting the people or groups who are most likely to buy your type of aircraft affords you the opportunity to get the best possible price in the shortest period of time.

Whether this is your first aircraft or one of many, we go the extra mile to earn your respect, business, and preserve our reputation as the best in the business.

Swartz Aviation Group and Aircraft Maintenance Advisors provides corporate aviation with professional maintenance consulting and management services that many individual owners, operators and small flight departments lack. This makes it possible for any operator to take advantage of the benefits that large flight departments have in professional maintenance management and control.

All maintenance facilities – independent or factory owned – operate like other businesses: to make a profit. Your best interests are not always the maintenance facility’s primary goal. Does your maintenance facility have the required experience / training of your aircraft?

If not, this can result in higher than normal operating and maintenance costs.

Below are examples from an article published by Business & Commercial Aviation in April of 2005 entitled “The Wrenching Truth” by Lou Churchville. As a consumer of maintenance services, do any of these sound familiar to you?

“Things go badly, particularly around invoice time.”

“Delivery dates are written in invisible ink.”

“A shop is only as good as its people and only as circumspect as its leadership. While new and clean hangars are impressive, glistening white floors and customer lounges with a big screen television do NOT get the work done – the people in the hangar do.”

“As a potential maintenance customer you should be familiar with the metrics of a sound maintenance management process.”

“Scheduling maintenance with no maintenance plan is like taking off without a flight plan, knowing only the destination.”

“There are many ways to protect the parties from the vagaries of aircraft maintenance inspection outcomes that can affect the schedule and final bill. Whenever possible, you should have a representative on site during the course of the maintenance visit who is knowledgeable on maintenance matters and has the authority to make decisions regarding what can be deferred, and what work can be done for how much.”

Swartz Aviation Group and AMA can manage your aircraft maintenance, whether it is a large inspection, modification or Technical Evaluation (pre-purchase). We can help you control maintenance costs without sacrificing regulatory compliance and safety.
